JAMES Price of St Andrew’s College is part of the South African U19 cricket team which is currently facing a Zimbabwe U19 side, in five limited overs matches and two Pro20 games.
Price went on the rampage against the Zimbabwe bowlers during the third match on Wednesday, smashing thirteen 4’s and seven 6’s on his way to his 135 off 82 balls.

Batting sensations Price and Gihahn Cloete (115 off 113) blasted South Africa to the mammoth total of 346/3 in 50 overs, the highest total ever scored by an SA U19 side.
The pair recorded the highest partnership in SA U19 cricket history, scoring 221 runs off 142 balls for the third wicket.
Cloete was the ideal partner for the hostile Price, and played a well balanced knock, to finish unbeaten and with a strike rate of more than 100.
The South African U19 troops ploughed through Zimbabwe U19 with a 200-run win in the third limited over match at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday.
South Africa now holds an unassailable three-nil lead in the five match series on a day that saw the record books turn over a new leaf.
This was also the second highest victory margin by a SA U19 team, only behind the 201 set against Bangladesh in Kuala Lumpur in 2007/2008.
The SA U19 squad is on a two week tour of Zimbabwe. The squad departed last Wednesday, with the first limitedover match taking place on Sunday.
In the first match, Price made 12 runs as the SA U19 side went on to win by 75 runs. The second match, on Monday, saw Price scoring 39 runs off 30 balls, including three sixes.
The SA U19 side won by one wicket. Thirteen of the 15-man squad (including Price) have been part of Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) Talent Acceleration Programme (TAP), which identifies and monitors potential players at an early age and gives way for a high concentration of quality players coming through.
In yesterday’s limited overs match, the SA U19 side won by eight wickets, with Price making 13 not out. The fifth and final limited overs match takes place on Saturday, while the Pro20 matches take place on Sunday 11 July, and Monday 12 July.
