Brumbies Rugby Club’s 1st team lost their second match in a row when they went down to Gardens (from Uitenhage) 25-26 in their Super 12 rugby fixture on Saturday. 

Brumbies Rugby Club’s 1st team lost their second match in a row when they went down to Gardens (from Uitenhage) 25-26 in their Super 12 rugby fixture on Saturday. 

The previous week saw Brumbies lose 28-36 to East London Police.

Saturday's match against Gardens was very much a game of two halves.

Gardens dominated in the first 40 minutes, leading 20-6 at half time. Brumbies then came back strongly in the second half, dominating play but falling tantalisingly short of the win by two points.  

The man of the match for Brumbies’ went to number 10, Vincent Mains, who scored a fantastic intercept try from deep in his own half. 

Also contributing to the Brumbies' scorecard were Jason Potgieter, Duane Brown (1 try each), Vincent Mains (try, 2 penalties, 2 conversions).
