Grocott’s Mail reported yesterday that Avuyile had gone missing on Saturday. He was last seen by his brother after playing with friends in E Street, Fingo Village, Grahamstown.

Captain Milanda Coetzer, South African Police Service, Grahamstown Crime Intelligence Officer, said the K9 unit found the body of Avuyile at the Matthews Street pond.
Coetzer said it has been confirmed that the body is that of Avuyile Nkovu, and his family has been notified.
Coetzer said it is presumed that Avuyile drowned in the pond, adding that the medical report will confirm the cause of his death.
