The Stuart Reece Band is not just another boy band; they are entirely in a league of their own! Based in Port Elizabeth; this group of musicians have a whole lot of talent and spunk.
They are a folk rock/blues band that is similar in sound to international stars Mumford and Sons, and Stereophonics.
The band formed in 2010 and are still looking for a major break through in the South African market.
The five members include Stuart Reece who is the lead vocalist and plays the acoustic guitar, Wesley Keet is the backing vocals and keyboardist, Barry Killian is on the bass, Kristo Zondagh is the drummer and newcomer Hugo Kleinhans is on the electric guitar.
As a group they have incredible chemistry together. Their charming indie inspired persona adds to their allure; because once they start they will blow you away from beginning to end.
Reece writes his own songs drawing inspiration from the music he hears (and he admits, the girls he meets). Kleinhans is magical with his electric guitar- every note makes you want to get up and dance.
Their first album Chasing Shadows was well received in the Eastern Cape, which is why they have been featured in The Herald and on Algoa FM.
Their music appeals to all ages.
The band has previously played alongside Meri Kenaz and Jesse Clegg.
Look out for them at the Lowlander during the National Arts Festival from the 5th to 7th July.
