Saints and Sinners Cycling Club held a club road cycle ride on Sunday in preparation for this weekend’s The Herald VW Cycle Tour.
Some cyclists pushed themselves to cover about 40km, while others rode to Carlisle Bridge and back for an 80km-plus ride.
On Tuesday the club also held a coaching clinic where committee members briefed riders about the weekend’s races and shared a few tips.
The Herald VW Cycle Tour includes mountain bike and road bike events.
The mountain bike events take place in Addo tomorrow (Saturday) and include an 80km Extreme course, 60km Adventure course, 30km Leisure Challenge as well as a 5km Kiddies’ Ride.
The road bike events take place from Port Elizabeth’s Hobie Beach on Sunday and include the 106km Classic, a 55km Pursuit, 21km Leisure Ride, 10km Sprint and a 2km Kiddies’ Ride.
