Presented by Rhodes University Drama Department postgraduate and third-year students, the four-day theatre festival began on Wednesday. Fortunately you won't be missing out on what was shown on Wednesday and Thursday because Programme A (Wednesday) will be repeated tonight and Programme B (Thursday) will be repeated tomorrow night.
Programme A (Friday) offers 'Experience the witnessed… witness the experience… it is up to you' by Nomcebisi Moyikwa at 6pm in the Theatre Recess: limited audience*. Next is 'If Walls Could Speak' by Mikey von Bardeleben at 6.30pm in the Box Theatre: also a limited audience*.
At 7pm in the Main Theatre, Alan Parker and his cast present 'Blue Moon River' followed by 'Double Helix' by Elisha Mudly.
Programme B (Saturday) begins with a free performance by Thalia Laric, 'Writing the body' at 6pm in the Box Theatre. At 7pm in the Box Theatre Alan Parker and his cast will present 'Like Catching Smoke…' followed by 'Enter. Under Construction' by Heike Gehring and cast.
Tickets are R20 (public) and R10 (students) and are available at the Theatre Cafe. They include the evening's programme, except shows that are marked 'limited audience', which are not included in the programme. To reserve a place for these shows please contact: r.haxton@ru.ac.za.
