According to police, the two students were walking towards Shelley Beach on Saturday when they were approached by a man who accosted them and demanded their valuables.

A fight between the robber and the two students began when they refused to hand over all their valuables. The two students attempted to overpower the robber but were unsuccessful. The man stabbed the one woman in the arm while the other sustained injuries to her upper body. He then stole their money, cell phones and jewellery worth approximately R1 800.

A case of robbery has been opened but no arrests have been made.
