The police are investigating charges of culpable homicide following a fatal accident which took place between Kenton-On-Sea and Alexandria on Monday when a minibus collided with an oncoming Golf.
Police spokesperson captain Mali Govender said the accident killed the six people who were travelling in the Golf, including a child. She added that the passengers of the minibus were severely injured and were rushed to the local hospital.
The minibus was reportedly driving towards Alexandria while the Golf was travelling towards Kenton-On-Sea when the cars collided head on.
Eyewitnesses said the minibus had a blow-out which caused it to veer into the right-hand lane where it collided with the Golf. They said none of the vehicles are from any of the neighbouring towns and that after the injured passengers were treated in Port Alfred hospital they were discharged.
