A man allegedly broke into a shack and sodomised the two boys. It is believed that the two cousins were asleep when they were attacked in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A man allegedly broke into a shack and sodomised the two boys. It is believed that the two cousins were asleep when they were attacked in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The man is well-known in the neighbourhood. The perpetrator was caught in the act by the mother of the younger boy.
She wrestled with the man but was eventually overpowered. The mother, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the boys, refused to comment saying she was too emotional to do an interview.
According to Inspector Sherolene Williams the man appeared in court on Monday and Wednesday and was charged with rape.
“The detective working on the case does not believe the perpetrator will be released on bail,” says Williams. She also could not release the name of suspect, because he had not been convicted at the time of going to press.
A resident who did not want to be named said the community is mobilising itself to chase his family out of the neighbourhood.
“The area’s leaders are calling for a meeting to decide on whether to demolish that family’s house and eject them from the neighbourhood,” said the resident.
The two boys spent four days in hospital where they were treated for injuries. The younger boy was described as critically injured.
