The South African Football Association (Safa) Cacadu, Absa women’s soccer league, scheduled to take place over the past weekend, was postponed until further notice due to a number of teams not registering all their players in time.
African Connections coach, Chris Totobela said the women were looking forward to their first match of the season and were disappointed when they were told the matches has been postponed.
The Safa SAB Cacadu league match between the two local sides in the Cacadu league, Grocott’s Mail Eleven Attackers and Phoenix Pioneers, scheduled for Saturday, was postponed until further notice. Totobela, who is also the vice president of the Makana LFA, said the Metropolitan league matches took place as scheduled.
He said the committee was meant to meet last night to discuss possibilities of playing the league matches during the week as well, so as not to miss the 28 February deadline set by Safa.
