. Isipho HIV/Aids Care Centre cares for Aids orphans and vulnerable children in the Sundays River municipal area and is also involved in many activities including skills training and home-based care programmes through the assistance of Amakhala Game Reserve.

The Eastern Cape Government’s Social Development Department donated R60 000 for uniforms (which were presented to 200 children) and 250 000 for stationery for 150 of the centre’s children. Julie Newcombe, the marketing coordinator of Amakhala Game Reserve says the learners recieved their uniforms and didn’t waste time to put them on.

“The kiddies arrived and immediately changed into their new uniforms,” says Newcombe. The stationery included exam pads, nature study books, writing material and brown paper covers for schoolbooks.

The various schools included Môreson Primary, Kayakhulu Higher Primary School in Kwazenzele township and Sandisulwazi High School in the village of Paterson. Other children were from schools in Landros, Bersheba, Enon, Kirkwood and Moses Madiba.
