In his bid to take a stand against internet censorship, a Cuban man who has been on a hunger strike for 36 days is refusing to take medication while his health deteriorates rapidly.

A 41 year old psychologist, Guillermo Farinas, has been on a hunger strike since the 31st of January. He is demanding unfettered internet access and asking Cuba’s Communist authorities to respect his freedom to information which is currently controlled by the government

Farinas was moved to a hospital in his hometown of Santa Clara, in central Cuba, where he is being kept on an IV drip.

According to a Net for Cuba International, Farinas has been quoted as saying "If God wants me to die, I will die. I will be a martyr for the Free information in the World"

He is currently in a critical state.
