Sive Teyise’s motto is, “Don’t limit your challenges; challenge your limits.”
This, in part, explains why this Ntsika High School learner is the top learner in the Sarah Baartman district for 2021.
Sive achieved distinctions for all seven subjects, including Maths, Life Sciences, Physics, and Geography.
Sive will study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cape Town in 2022.
He is excited about his results and has “never experienced such happiness”. But, he says success is “not something you are born with – it is something that you develop throughout your school years.”
“I attribute my success to time management, consistency – and very hard work. And teamwork! Thanks to my guardians, my support system, brothers, and teachers – who were with me daily.
“And my classmates, who provided me with some competition! They had a great mindset – the best people you could be around, motivating me to challenge my limits.”
His family posted on Facebook: “You have put Ntsika Secondary School and the whole of Makhanda including our district on the map, mfana! ??❗❗❗
We are super proud of you, ntwana yam, uGogo can’t stop crying, umakazi is beaming with joy, umama is calling everyone, ?❤and the whole fam is just happy that all your hard work and determination has yielded such results.”
“Congratulations grootman usebenzile!??❤ The world is your oyster!???”
