Over two eventful days of teams navigated turbulent waters, first place went to Varsity College. Rhodes University proved to be worthy competitors in this year’s K2 event, finishing on the podium in third, just behind the University of Cape Town. The school caters for socially marginalised, impoverished and abused children who are in need of a stable and nurturing environment. On the last day of term there were 130 pupils in attendance and 50 high school pupils that they sponsor. In recent weeks Amasango has been engaged in legal proceedings to acquire new facilities.
