St Andrew’s College pupils Zuko Yaka and Francis Christie were awarded Music Honours at the school. Since arriving at St Andrew’s Prep in 2011, Zuko has performed regularly for school concerts and achieved his Trinity College Grade 8 in Drum Kit in his Grade 11 year. He is also a very capable pianist and bass guitarist. Zuko has sung in the school’s Chapel Choir and Chamber Choir for many years, as well as a member of the the Jazz Ensemble and Wind Orchestra, Contemporary Band and String Ensemble. Sassa has called on social grant beneficiaries to be wary of callers claiming to be officials from the Agency, and assured recipients their cards would continue to be valid beyond the December 2017 expiry date. Local groups will perform traditional and modern dance, music, poetry, and drama at the Sakhuluntu Youth Festival at midday on Heritage Day, Sunday 24 September, in the Extension 9 Community Hall in Joza. Civil engineers will conduct controlled blasts on the N2 (section section 13, between Grahamstown and the Fish River Pass) every week until 24 October, according to the SANRAL (the South African National Roads Agency). “The blasts will occur at various positions along the N2 between KM 81 and KM 92,” said a SANRAL press statement, on this, the second phase of the upgrade of the road. “Blasting will take place between 2pm and 4.30pm, and the road will be closed for approximately one hour during this time.” Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region’s Manager asked motorists to plan their journeys carefully, use…
