Local is lekker, and you’re bound to find something particularly lekker at the SupUrban Market happening on the lawns at the Johan Carinus Art Centre on Beaufort Street on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 July, when over 30 Grahamstown-based stallholders will be offering their passionately crafted home-made wares to Festival bargain hunters.

There was plenty of fine fashion on display at Wednesday night’s official opening of the National Arts Festival, which featured items by fashion design students from Walter Sisulu University. The show formed part of the official opening ceremony, which was attended by the MEC for the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Dr Pemmy Majodina, the Eastern Cape Premier Phumulo Masualle, the Executive Mayor of Sarah Baartman District Municipality, Eunice Kekana, Makana Municipality Mayor Nomhle Gaga and other dignitaries.
