The day began with Mary Waters (Mawas) U15 vs Alexandria High School (Alex) U15. After finding themselves 7-17 down, an inspiring comeback saw Mawas win 29-17. Mrwetyana as part of the Keep a girl child at school Soccer tournament in an entertaining semi-final encounter at J.D Dlepu stadium. The Ubuntu Knowledge programme was started in 2006 by founders Hall in collaboration with the parent education programme. Primary school children of Rhodes University support staff members (children between grades 1-6) receive educational support through tutoring twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The matches started early, with clear skies and a great atmosphere on the fields. DSG Juniors proved to be very strong throughout the day, winning the majority of hockey games.
