POLICE are investigating two separate cases of assault reported at the police station in Beaufort Street over the weekend. The first incident took place at Nikelo’s Tavern in Vukani township. Police said a 35-year-old man was stabbed twice in his back by his drunken friend.

The South African Triathlon Championships took place in Germiston in Johannesburg recently, with two local athletes Terri-Lynn Penney and Matthew Archer forming part of the Eastern Province team.
