Tribute to ‘first couple’ of SA icthyology

Prof Mike Bruton launched his latest book, The Fishy Smiths, at the South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity (SAIAB) on Wedndesday evening. The book is a biography of Prof JLB and his wife Margaret Smith, the first couple of ichthyology in South Africa. Bruton, a former director of SAIAB, said that Prof Smith was a frequent contributor to Grocott's Mail and always made sure the newspaper had access to his most recent discoveries. Photo: Steven Lang
