Graeme College will host its annual rugby day at the school on Saturday. Nine first team rugby matches wil be played as well as a number of U14 and U15 games.
The Graeme side will face Queens College in the main match of the day at 4pm and will be hoping to continue where they left off over the past weekend.

The Graeme side started their season on a positive note with a hard-fought 24-12 win over Volkskool from Graaff-Reinet, after trailing 7-9 at halftime.
The Graeme rugby day promises to showcase some top schoolboy rugby, with, according to Nico van der Meulen of Graeme College, Saturday’s line up being the strongest line up every in the tournament.
The number two ranked rugby school in the country, the Glenwood High School first team from Durban, will come up against St Andrew’s College.
Local schools taking part are Kingswood College, St Andrew’s, Graeme, PJ Olivier, Mary Waters and Nathaniel Nayaluza.
Other schools involved include Brandwag, Cambridge, Hudson Park, Nico malan, Framesby, Dale, Selborne, Marlow, Grey, Glenwood and Port Alfred High School. In the past Saturday’s rugby match between Graeme and Volkskool, it was a typical early season match with many unforced errors preventing the Graeme team from building proper momentum.
The Graeme forward pack showed huge potential, totally dominating the large Volkskool forwards in the set pieces.
Graeme’s two props, Chad Banfield and Jade Bowles, showed their class both in the scrums and while running with the ball in hand. Bowles used his strength and size to power over for two tries.
Others to catch the eye were hardworking flank, Juandré Nel, and Captain and eighth man Wikus Coetzee. Centre Carl Oerson was the pick of the backs for Graeme.
An indication of Graeme’s dominance was the fact that Graeme registered four tries to the four penalties of Volkskool.
Wikus Coetzeeand Francois Nel scored the remaining tries, while Alex Banfield converted two of the tries. A special moment occurred when two sets of brothers, Nels and Banfields, ran out to start their first match together for the 1st XV.
