The number of registered postgraduate students is 1 396 and is also still fluctuating slightly. This makes a total of 6 633 registered students for 2010.
Last year there were 6 975 registered students in total which means that the numbers have not increased by the 2 to 3% per year that was planned.
“It does need to be understood however, that enrolment planning is not an exact science, and projections are made three years in advance.
Spikes and dips will occur over the years, so the more important statistic to monitor is the average annual growth rate,” said director of communications Lebogang Hashatse. According to him, the university’s plans for expansion are still on track.
