A record-breaking crowd showed up in rainy weather on Saturday to take part in a very Bathurst Village Affair, an annual event in the village of settlers and pineapples.
There was no head count, but the streets and venues were crowded and the event programmes ran out by 11am, which has never happened before according to village crier Shane Steenkamp.
Not put off by the damp weather, people thronged the pubs, the marquees and cafes and kept the damp at bay with wine, food, song and hot coffee.
Among the events were the annual pineapple throwing competition and a beard contest.
The Pro Carmine choir once again drew a large crowd to St John's Church, the oldest unaltered Anglican church in the country.
