The second league fixtures are at an advanced stage, with some teams having played up to seven matches so far. The first league has seen fewer league matches however, due to first league members representing Grahamstown Rural in the Rural League South Africa matches.
The first league teams took part in a GCB 20/20 tournament last weekend. All first league teams except for Rhodes took part, with knock-out games played on Saturday morning. The round winners then went through to the semi-finals in the afternoon, which saw Cuylerville beat Salem and Manley Flats beat Southwell.
The date for the 20/20 final is yet to be confirmed.
Personally I think we had a very good GCB 20/20 competition, said Barry Smith of the GCB.
A number of close matches were played on the day, with Makana Sona just losing to Southwell in one of the games. Charlie Muir scored 43 not out and took three wickets in the semi-final for Cuylerville against Salem, as one of the individual highlights. See the 20/20 results below.
