Makana LFA president Ayanda Kota told italGrocott’s Mail/ital that the Makana LFA annual general meeting would be held sometime in the next two weeks and the 2012/2013 league will be discussed. The league was supposed to begin on 6 September.
Last week Kota said the main reason behind the league stalling is because the winners of the Mayoral Cup competition, which took place two weeks earlier, had not yet been paid by the municipality. However the prize money was expected to be paid yesterday (Monday).
Kota said the Makana LFA has plans to host at least three soccer competitions within the upcoming season that will see the winning teams earning large amounts of cash.
Meanwhile the Sakhulutsha pre-season soccer tournament finals take place at Fiddlers Green this Saturday at a time yet to be confirmed. The game will be between City Pirates and Eleven Attackers.
Tournament organiser Siyabonga Masinda said the Sakhulutsha event was intended to allow coaches of the 16 participating teams to see their new players in action before the 2012/2013 league kicks off.
