The first local first team cricket derby took place on Saturday when St Andrew's College hosted Kingswood College on Lower Field.
St Andrew’s won the toss and elected to bowl first in search of early wickets in the cool favorable bowling conditions. James Price and Panashe Muyeye bowled well in tandem restricting the run rate upfront with Price making full use of the conditions bowling some unplayable deliveries.
Muyeye picked up two early wickets and laid a solid platform for Ryan Dugmore to launch an aggressive spell. Dugmore obliged picking up four wickets as Kingswood tried to pick up the momentum of their innings.
Kingswood’s total of 119 needed regular wickets to defend however the superb partnership between Price (70 not out) and Sasha Gunn (38 not out) kept Kingswood out of the game as St Andrew's won by nine wickets.
