Founder of the Institute for Science and Civilisation and the 21st Century School, both at the University of Oxford, Dr James Martin has a more than impressive resume.
As a prominent author and business leader, Martin specialises in the fields of digital technology, education and international development and will present two lectures at Rhodes University next week.
Concerned with the future of our planet, Martin’s lectures will explore the rapid explosion of the human population and its negative effects on the earth’s resources.
He will discuss how we are entering into an age marked by extremes in wealth and technology, and one effected by globalism.
The first of these lectures, entitled “Our Future: Understanding the Big Picture” will take place on Thursday 11 March at 6.30pm at the Eden Grove red lecture theatre.
The second lecture, “Our future and the problems and opportunities which need to be addressed” will be held on Friday 12 March at 12pm at the Humanities Department.
