Almost 200 pupils took part in the Grahamstown high schools athletics meeting in extreme heat at the Rhodes University Prospect Field on Saturday.
All the local schools were represented with Mary Waters Secondary School one of the best represented in many of the events.
Almost 200 pupils took part in the Grahamstown high schools athletics meeting in extreme heat at the Rhodes University Prospect Field on Saturday.

A team will now be selected from Saturday’s meeting to represent Grahamstown at the upcoming Albany District athletics meeting.
The Albany meeting will be split into two separate days, the track events will take place at the Prospect
Field on Saturday (13 February) and the field events will be held at Hoërskool PJ Olivier on Wednesday, 17 February.
The Albany District athletics meeting will see the top Grahamstown, Port Alfred and Alexandria high school pupils battling in out for a spot at the Cacadu athletics champs.
There are three age groups in the various athletics meetings, U15, U17 and U19. The two two finishers in each event will be chosen to take part at the champs on 27 February in Humansdorp.
A Cacadu team will then be selected to take part at the provincial athletics champs in Port Elizabeth on 6 March.
