The talented choir, which has a unique style of gospel music, came to Grahamstown as a result of their connection with Barbara and Wilf Stout, the cathedral’s director of music and organist respectively. Their son David is also a member of the choir.
“We came to South Africa to raise the profile of the choir and to raise funds for the Order of St John which has been doing a lot to help Aids orphans. We are also here to have fun and we are hoping to produce a new CD when we get home based on our experiences here,” said Reverend Roger Hall.
Reverend Hall says he is impressed by the city and its people and he hopes that one day they will come back. “It’s a lovely town and the people are friendly and hospitable,” he said.
