“It took me quite a long time to develop a voice, and now that I have it, I am not going to be silent”

-Madeliene Albright

My name is Sarah James and I am a storyteller and historian born in Durban, South Africa. I am currently in my fourth year of my Bachelor of Journalism at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. I am also a tutor for First Year History at the university.

My passion for storytelling was invoked by my dad, who told me lot of stories when I was a child. Most of these stories were made up as he spoke.

It is my love for history that first brought about my interest in creating a story based on the Grahamstown Cathedral; a building rich in history.

I am a born and bred Anglican which is another reason for my interest in the Grahamstown Cathedral which is an Anglican cathedral. I am very interested in church history and consequent transformation.
